  • Inner Mongolia border checkpoints see robust growth in trade

  • CHINA's Inner Mongolia has recovered to the pre-recession level with the trade cargo handling volume some of its border checkpoint breaking records, Xinhua reported.

    Erenhot, the largest overland checkpoint on the Sino-Mongolian border, registered a trade volume of 6.9 million tonnes from January to October, up 37.2 per cent year on year, surpassing the 2009's annual volume, setting a new high since 2006.

    At the meantime, the largest Sino-Russian overland checkpoint Manzhouli handled 21.4 million tonnes with export cargo rising 81.3 per cent, marking the best performance since downturn.

    In this period, the trade cargo volume of all checkpoints in Inner Mongolia totalled to 41.7 million tonnes, up about 40 per cent.
