In order to improve the ability of dealing with the oil spill accidents and protect the marine environment together, the Guangzhou Baoyu united with Dongguang Nangxiang shipyard to organize the emergency exercise under the guidance of “Oil Spill Emergency Plan of Guangzhou”. The exercise was held in the neighboring sea area of Shetou bay north to the Weiyuan Island in Humen in Dongguang on December 28^th, 2012.

The exercise began at 14:00 on December 28^th, 2012. Our emergency response barge “Baoyu 3” started to place the PVC750# solid float type oil containment boom in the oil spill area to prevent further diffusion at 14:20. At 14:30, the “Baoyu 3” switched on the spray device and the cockboats cleaned up the grease contamination with oil absorption felts in some sea area. The oil spill was primarily under control at 14:50 and the staff continued to clear the rest grease contamination. The exercise ended successfully at 15:30. The abilities of teamwork in oil spill emergency response and dealing with the overflowing oil were further improved through the exercise.
