Two large oil tanks caught fire in the northeastern Chinese port city of Dalian on Tuesday, and no casualties have been reported, local government said.
The accident happened at about 6:35 p.m. at a dock of the Dalian Port, and it took hundreds of firefighters about an hour to put out the blaze, the Dalian municipal government announced in a statement.
The fire was triggered by lightening strikes that damaged seals on the oil tanks, the statement said.
In the summer of last year, an explosion hit two oil pipelines in the port area of Dalian. The explosion was followed by a fire and triggered a major oil spill.
